There are about 200 states around the globe and Georgia has visa free regimes with 88 of them. As Deputy FM Nino Kalandadze stated, one of the priorities of the Georgian government is to establish its borders as free and transparent. According to her visa free movement carries no problems and no threats whatsoever.
The Deputy Minister’s opinion is challenged by some analysts who think that there could be some risks involved, particularly with drug trafficking. The country has certain problems with narcotic trafficking already and visa free movement could further deteriorate the situation.
