Non visa regime between Turkey and Russia increasing holiday makers from north

From April 16, 2011 citizens of Turkey and Russia have been enjoying visa-free travel to each other's country. Travelers only require a passport and the demand for airline tickets has increased by more than 300%.

Before this alteration to the travel requirements Russian citizens had to pay USD 120 for a visa. Turkey hopes to host more than 4 mln holiday makers from Russia in 2011 as Turkey is a very popular tourist destination for Russian citizens. Recent developments in Arab countries, in Egypt in particular which usually entertains a huge number of tourists, give ground to suggest that Turkey might receive more visitors from Russia this year.
