The summer tourist season in Georgia officially begins on June 11. The tourism department in Georgia expects around three mln holiday makers to visit Georgia. Tourists could be hosted in Batumi, Kobuleti and Anaklia on the Black sea coast and later in summer in Svaneti as well. One in ten tourists coming to Georgia will visit Svaneti. It is suggested that in 2011 the number of tourists will come to almost 30 000 however there is inadequate infrastructure in Svaneti as of yet. In fact there is only one international standard hotel and other bed and breakfast accommodations do not comply with high standards.
