Migration from Armenia

The statistical data available from two Armenian airports Zvartnoc in Yerevan and Shirak in Gumri in the first 6 months of 2011 showed that 377 000 persons left the country, whereas only 314 000 entered Armenia. These airports are the main gates of entry and departure to and from Armenia. Its borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan are blocked and the Armenian population can only leave the country by land via Iran or Georgia and the numbers of Armenians who do so are not significant.
