Polls in Russia suggest that the number of people supporting a Russian invasion of Georgia is slightly decreasing. A poll conducted in Russia by the Public Opinion Foundation showed that only 67% of those asked supported the policy of the Russian leadership, whereas right after the war their number was 10% higher. Russian analysts admit that the number of Russian citizens who support the move of the Moscow government to recognize as ‘independent states’ Georgia's occupied territories has also decreased.
