The Ukrainian government endorsed a memorandum on providing Azeri liquid gas into the country. This plan will facilitate the diversification of Ukraine’s supply with natural gas and secure energy safety. The memorandum was signed in January 2011 in Davos, Switzerland. The two countries agreed that Ukraine will build a terminal whereas Azerbaijan will supply it with sufficient gas. In July this year, Ukraine announced an open tender for the construction of a liquid gas terminal on its Black Sea coast. At this stage a feasibility study is required for the project.
