Live chain against Rose Revolution
Rezonansi reports that a wide ranging manifestation is to be held against the rose revolution, on November 23. The initiators of the manifestation are ordinary Georgians, who have already created a page on social net Facebook, where the initiators call on Georgians to involve in a live chain from the Embassy of the United States in Georgia to the President’s residence in Avlabari . “we are not slaves, we must defend our constitutional rights from that tyrant Government, we must not bear terror, “facade democracy“, propaganda of depravity, degradation of education system and robbery of the state, “ the web page reads. 200 men have already joined the group and the initiators think that the number of those who would gather the chain would significantly increase for the day.
Georgian analysts think there is no protest mood in the society and according to them it is unlikely that the manifestation is to be as wide ranging as the initiators think. Analyst Soso Tsintsadze thinks only appeals from TV or social networks would not work, as serious preparatory works are to be carried out to persuade people to come into the street, “if someone believes that Egypt's events had been launched due to the fact that some boy displayed something on his Facebook wall, it is absurd,” Tsintsadze said.
In the opinion of analyst Soso Tsiskarishvili the identity of the leader of the manifestation is important, “I doubt that forming the chain from Avlabari to the US Embassy in such conditions when there is no obvious will of expressing protest from the people. It does not mean that there is no protest mood among the people, just on the contrary, however everything is measured by who chairs the events, “the analyst stated and mentioned that choosing the US Embassy as one of the destinations was not the right choice, “as the popular saying in the society that Mikheil Saakashvili was sent by the United States, is unbelievable, as we had elected him.”
Five Georgian teachers to take training courses in Israel
Mes.gov.ge states that five Georgian teachers will be sent to Israel to participate in the inclusive education program under the initiative of the Embassy of Israel in Georgia. The teachers, which were selected by a special competition in Tbilisi and other regions of Georgia, will take a three-month course in Tel Aviv. The participants of the program will get familiarized with the inclusive education process in Israel, which facilitates complete integration of disabled children in the education environment.
First Deputy Minister of Education Koka Seferteladze and the Ambassador of Israel to Georgia, Itskhak Gerberg introduced the details of the program to media at the briefing yesterday.
