Biggest importer to Georgia – Turkey, biggest export destination – Azerbaijan

Foreign trade turnover for January-August 2011 increased compared to the same period last year by 39% and reached USD 5.7 bln. Exports reached 1.4 bln and imports 4.3 bln, leaving a negative balance of 2.9 bln. The biggest trade partners for this period were Turkey, Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Turkey is the biggest importer. During the mentioned period it imported products into Georgia worth USD 800 mln. Georgia exported to Turkey products worth USD 146 mln. Georgia exports most to Azerbaijan. For the period exports worth USD 234 mln went to Azerbaijan and imports reached 388 mln.
