The Russian Centre for Public Opinion Studies carried out a polling which revealed some interesting tendencies in the Russian population. Of those polled, 56% of the respondents think their conditions are very complicated. The standard of living is higher in big cities than in rural places. There are also differences between age groups. The younger the population, the more optimistic and cheerful they are. Generally, in this round of polling, respondents were more optimistic compared with the spring polling results. In total, 1,600 people participated in the polling which covered 46 regions, districts and republics of the Russian Federation.
