Saakashvili Bet on David Bakradze
In his interview to Kvela Siakhle Conservative party leader Zviad Dzidziguri does not exclude more protests against the government. “If we want to achieve our goal we should unite. It is useless to hold rallies, or marches separately. We have promised to our supporters that we would mobilise a million person and we only will do it if we unite the whole opposition spectrum,” Dzidziguri said.
“Saakashvili has already begun his election campaign and why should we not start ours? The opposition does not have finances, administrative resources and informational support in the media, but we have time which we should use effectively. The financing of the opposition parties is a serious problem, and no businessman living in Georgia dares to finance us, on the other hand authorities spend billions on campaigns,” Dzidziguri says.
On the question which candidate will become the National Movement’s favourite for presidency Dzidziguri answers that Ugulava has big ambitions to become president however it is known that Saakashvili bets on David Bakradze.
President Meets Georgian Language Teachers
The Georgian Language for Future Success Program has been launched. The aim of the project is to enhance the knowledge of Georgian language among ethnic minorities living in Georgia, 24 Hours reports.
As part of the program, selected teachers have already commenced their activities. In particular, they have started to teach Georgian language to the students of non-Georgian schools in the Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, and Kakheti regions.
While conducting Georgian language lessons, the program participants co-teach with local teachers of the Georgian language and assist the teachers of other subjects to deliver classes bilingually. The participants of the program live in host families.
By the end of 2011, 500 participants will be involved in this new program.
