Re-Export of Cars Major Component of Exports in Georgia

Foreign trade turnover in first three quarters of 2011 has increased by 39% compared with the same period of last year and it reached USD 6.48 bln. Out of this amount, exports amounted to USD 1.5. bln. It should be mentioned that during the three quarters the re-export of cars created 21.5% of total export which makes USD 333 mln. Then come ferro alloys – USD 197 mln (12%), scrap metal – USD 104 mln, fertilizers – USD 95 mln, crude ore – 57 mln, copper – 56 mln, hazel nuts – 54 mln and so on.
