Azeri President Promises to Increase GDP

Azeri currency reserves in the first nine months of 2011 have increased by USD 11 bln and reached USD 40 bln, as the Azeri president, Ilham Aliev stated. Besides other achievements Aliev mentioned the increase in the agriculture sector by 7.6%. He also reported a decrease in the level of unemployment mentioning that for the last eight years 950,000 work places were created in the country. He mentioned the increase of pensions as well. According to Aliev in 2012 the budget will come to USD 25 bln. Finally, Aliev promised that in 10 years from now Azerbaijan’s GDP will double.
