Armenia might export fish into EU countries
Tuesday, November 8
Armenia has no access to the sea; but in Sevan Lake a serious fishing industry has developed. As Armenia’s agriculture minister Sergo Karapetyan stated the country is increasing its fish product export. Until recently the major market of Armenian fish was Russia. Now Armenia hopes to enter the EU market, but before doing so, it must achieve the high standard of quality required by European import regulations. As minister Karapetyan promises, the country needs two years to introduce an appropriate quality control system in the industry.
