Armenia and Georgia hold high level meetings

On November 7, 2011 Armenia’s PM Tigran Sarkisian received Georgian minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia. Armenia’s PM stated that Armenia and Georgia represent a united economic area and all obstacles between the two countries on trade turnover should be removed. It is estimated that Euro 52 mln should be spent for establishing European standard border checkpoints between two countries. These should be done to improve custom procedures and services for the people and cargo transported both ways. It was decided that on November 17-18 Tbilisi will host a Georgia-Armenian intergovernmental session. The most acute issue is construction of motorways connecting the Armenian town of Megri with Batumi, Georgia.
