Bulgaria and Turkey will sign an agreement on the construction of a natural gas pipeline between the two countries. The transportation of Caspian gas into Europe via Bulgaria will take place. So far Bulgaria is receiving gas from the Russian giant Gazprom, now it attempts to diversify its supply and at the same time to become a transit route for transporting gas to neighboring countries: Greece, Romania, and Serbia. In October 2011, Turkey and Azerbaijan decided to increase the natural gas supply from Azerbaijan up to 16 bln cubic meters, from this amount 6 bln will be consumed by Turkey, as for the rest it will be transported into Europe.
