How would you assess 2011?
Tuesday, December 27
“It was quite eventful year in terms of politics, as we finally saw Bidzina Ivanishvili in it. It was also fruitful in terms of infrastructure development, since many hospitals and schools have been opened. As for economic and democratic developments the situation only worsened”.
Temuri Credit Officer 32
“Personally I am happy with 2011, I has been quite prosperous year for me. I cannot say much about the processes in Georgia. I think not much has changed, since the majority of population continues to complain on various issues, which have not been solved”.
Lika, Student, 20
“It was wonderful year for me, I became a student and I got married. I feel good and wish everyone to be happy next year as well.”
Tako, student, 19
“Ah, nothing good happened I think. It was the same as previous ones. I have a hope that next year will be better but I am not sure. I am just dreaming.”
Guram, taxi driver, 56
“2011 had been one of the hardest years in my life - a terrible car crash terribly damaged me thus I could think of nothing more but rehabilitation. Having spent more than 6 months in a special chair for disabled people I realized how much I had to do in my life. I was operated in Germany – now I’m going to spend my New Year in Berlin presenting a book about my life with the best hopes for future.”
Nino, Writer, 27
“Actually I’m the sort of a person who rarely cares about the ongoing processes around me but 2011 has overcome all my expectations in all the aspects: political confrontations, economic crises, etc have affected the entire world population thus made me look at things from a different angle.”
Levan, Sportsman, 31
“It was not a bad year , there were some definite changes in my and also in the country's life . Bidzina Ivanishvili’s coming to political arena gave some hope to Georgians that those useless reforms made by Saakashvili (some of them were a bit positive as well) would be ended and his term would also be concluded.”
