January 14 to be State Flag Day

At the initiative of the American Friends’ Club (President Ilia Zukakishvili) and youth organization of the National Movement state Flag Day was marked on January 14.

The event took place at the renovated Marjanishvili square and everyone could participate in the event. Georgian flags were exhibited by participants of the action while the Georgian anthem was performed. During the event young representatives of the National Movement went round handing out small flags.

As the event organizers stated, the State Flag day from now on is 14 January, though this day has not been celebrated until now, and their wish is to make the day a tradition and as important as other national holidays.
