In 2011, Georgia's foreign trade turnover reached over $9.24 billion USD. This number is up 36% over 2010. Approximately $4.86 billion USD of the total represents a negative trade balance, meaning that Georgian imports are worth three times more than its exports, although exports are increasing. The biggest sector again in 2011 was the re-export of cars, representing 21% of all exports. Other sectors were ferroalloys (iron used in the construction of steel and other raw materials), fertilizers, hazelnuts, scrap metal and semi-processed gold. The largest export growth was seen in hazelnuts. Georgia's largest trade partner is Turkey, followed by Azerbaijan, Ukraine, China, and Germany.
