NABUCCO alternative

The much-touted NABUCCO gas pipeline currently exists only on paper, prompting competitors to propose alternate routes.

The newest alternative is currently being discussed in Turkey. Called the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline Project (TANAP), its supporters envisage transporting Azeri gas to Bulgaria via Turkey.

All of the proposed NABUCCO alternatives would cross Georgian on their way from the Caspian Sea to Europe.
