Parliamentary elections in Armenia

Armenia’s president, Serzh Sarkisyan, has announced that the Armenian parliamentary elections will be held on May 6, 2012.
European institutions have already announced that they hope the elections to be free and fair, and to meet international standards.
Opposition MP Vaan Ovanesyan believes that the forthcoming elections may trigger a change in governance. According to him, the amount and quality of democracy in Armenia is directly related to the successful enaction of the elections.
