Financial cost of baby bonus announced

Presidential spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze has announced that the President’s baby bonus plan will cost approximately 15-20 million GEL.

In his speech to Parliament on February 28, President Mikheil Saakashvili promised that starting from January 2013, every family giving birth to a third child will receive a bonus of 1000 GEL, and 2000 GEL for every subsequent child.

His initiative also includes a free insurance package for families with four or more children up to 18 years of age.
