Armenia gender balance leader in South Caucasus

Armenia leads the way in the South Caucasus with regards to gender balance, according to a new study from Social Watch.
The Gender Equity Index assigns a score out of 100, based on the gender gap in education, political empowerment, and economic participation.
Armenia achieved a score of 70 points, three points less than the average European nation. Georgia received 67 points, Azerbaijan 64, and Turkey 45.
None of the 154 countries analyzed reached the "acceptable" level of 90 points or more, although Norway scored highest with 89 points, followed by Finland at 88, with Ireland and Sweden tied at 87.
