Negative trade balance in 2011

According to preliminary data, Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in 2011 reached $9.2 billion USD. This is higher than the previous year's trade turnover by 35%.

These figures are encouraging, although imports are also growing dramatically. Out of the above mentioned turnover, 75% is imported goods. The negative trade balance is therefore approximately $4.9 billion USD.
