A recent Bloomberg report, evaluating the business climate around the globe, has frustrating results for Georgia.
Among the 160 countries evaluated by Bloomberg, Georgia does not appear in the top 50. The leading economies in terms of business opportunities are Hong Kong, the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Japan, France, Austria, and Singapore.
Russia landed in 48th place, India 49th, and Brazil in 50th.
When a similar ranking was published in 2010 by the World Bank, Georgia was in eleventh place. However, local analysts suggest there is a big difference between starting a business in Georgian, and maintaining it.
