Georgia exporting little corn

When the government promoted the introduction of hybrid corn to Georgia, it gave optimistic promises that approximately 100 000 tonnes of corn would be exported. Unfortunately, this has not yet proven true; officially, only 1 300 tonnes of corn have been exported, to Armenia – although there is hope that up to 10 000 tonnes will be exported this year. Agricultural analysts suggest that the introduction of hybrid corn has been a failure and many farmers who participated in the project have faced unforeseen challenges.
