South Caucasus rich with earthquakes

In the last six months, more than 13 000 small earthquakes have been recorded in the South Caucasus adjustment region.
The largest took place in Van, Turkey on October 23, 2011, where a 9 magnitude earthquake killed more than 600 people. As the Turkish media reports, since then almost 10 000 smaller earthquakes have been detected. Meanwhile, in Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Iran, approximately 3000 smaller quakes have been detected.
