The Ukrainian government is attempting to join the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline project, TANAP.
The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine have already discussed the issue at the Davos economic forum. Turkey also supports Ukraine’s participation in the project.
Ukraine currently only received natural gas from Russia, and has faced problems with this arrangement in the past. The government is therefore interested in alternatives, particularly those that come with less political baggage.
