Most investments in Adjara come from Turkey

Almost 70% of investments in Adjara come from Turkey. In 2011 Turkish direct investments in Georgia reached more than USD 77 million. Turkey manages the Batumi International airport, with the number of international tourists increasing annually. Turkish investors have opened shopping malls, hotels etc. in the Adjara region, with a tendency by Turkish investors to increase these investments. Turkish businessmen say the Adjara region, and Batumi is a great place to invest, because of it's attractive location by the sea and the easy access to the Port and airport.
