New Ministry to start acting

The ruling authorities haled the initiative of the president and new prime minister in its establishment of the Ministry of Employment. However, opposition and most independent analysts challenge this enthusiasm and suggest that the creation of such an institution is nonsense. There was an opposition initiative to create an employment agency but the National Movement created a ministry instead. One of the functions of this ministry will be identifying all the unemployed. This was the responsibility of the statistical department (Geostat), now the new ministry will be duplicating this task. Some suggest that the activities of this ministry could have been carried out by the Ministry of Economy, suggesting that the creation of new jobs mostly depends on the activities of small and medium sized businesses, as they are the major engine for employing the population.
