Timber export for Georgia

According to the official information of the statistical department, from 2000 to 2011, raw timber was exported from Georgia in the amount of $143 million. During this period, Georgia’s export tendency increased. However, during the last 3 years, export has decreased slightly. The unprecedented cutting of wood has created much damage to nature. Specialists claim frequent landslides, floods and similar natural calamities are triggered by the widespread cutting of the wood.
