In January – July 2012, foreign trade turnover in Georgia came to $5.7 billion (the statistics provide only the figures for organized trade, no border trade). This figure is higher than for the same period of last year. Unfortunately, many analysts state that import is still dominating export: out of the above mentioned total amount, import makes up $4.4 billion and export only $1.35 billion. The negative balance comes to more than $3 billion.
