A new state program started from September 1. The total number of insured has reached 2.4 million. This resulted in an increased amount of visits to doctors' offices under the new insurance policy. As health minister Zurab Tchiaberashvili stated recently, several thousand newly insured patients are visiting doctors daily. This is because most of these people were not insured before and many of them have real health problems. But analysts suggest this could be catastrophic for the insurance sector and it could receive serious losses. The government insured patients who have serious health problems are lining-up in the medical centers and demanding appropriate services from the medical staff based on their insurance policy.
