President visits Georgia’s regions

Georgia’s President Mikheil Saakashvili conducted several meetings in several regions of Georgia recently. The visit to the regions began in Batumi where Saakashvili met with voters at Batumi Technological University. Saakashvili reiterated the priorities of the ruling team for the future and spoke about the projects that have been already implemented in the region and those which are planned for the future. During his time in Batumi, he visited the Makharadze family who are socially vulnerable. By the end of this year however, they will have a new flat in Batumi. Along with them, 219 families will have an opportunity to live in new flats. The campus building for vulnerable families was financed by the Batumi Municipality.
After visiting Batumi, Saakashvili arrived in Poti and addressed supporters of the UNM at the newly refurbished Virgin Mary Church. The president spoke about the priorities of the ruling party`s election program.
Saakashvili showed his concern for the living standards of IDPs settled in Poti. While visiting the settlement, the president focused attention on new infrastructural projects planned in the town where about 2, 000 locals will be employed.
Later, the president visited Khashuri where he viewed rehabilitated schools. At this stage, there are 2 schools renovated. However, the rehabilitation process of 22 schools is underway.
Mikheil Saakashvili also held meetings with the local residents in Ozurgeti in the Guria region.
