The President of Georgia met with his Romanian colleague

A bilateral meeting was held between the Presidents of Georgia and Romania at the Cotroceni Palace in Bucharest. Mikheil Saakashvili and Traian Basescu spoke about the elections held in Georgia. According to Romanian President’s assessment, Georgia once again proved with these elections that it has a democratic governing course and it is fighting for deepening political security, stability, and democratic processes. The President of Romania promised Mikheil Saakashvili full support in terms of the NATO integration process, and noted that the democratic elections held in Georgia will assist the country’s integration in the Euro Atlantic structures even more.
The sides also discussed issues related to mutual relationship and regional security. They also spoke about joint strategic projects, the implementation of which was decided as a result of an agreement between the two governments.
