The Ministry of Finance is planning to establish a special commission which will study the issues of budgetary expenditures. In particular, it will study the cases when large amounts of money are spent. One example is the new parliament building in Kutaisi. According to preliminary information, more than 340 million GEL has already been spent for this construction. According to the ministry, the expenditure of more than 1 million GEL should be studied accurately. If it is possible, the commission might study the non-transparent expenditure of amounts during the previous years. There was an item in the previous budget which read – “other expenses”. This data should become available. Much money was received from international credits. However, any credit needs to be paid back together with the interest. So, many questions exist and need to be answered.
