President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told the media on December 11 that he is ready to beg Georgian politicians to return to the CIS. He also mentioned that the Russian Federation is very much interested in Georgia’s return too. According to Lukashenko, if Georgia returns to the CIS, many of their problems will be solved. He even mentioned that Belarus and Russia will support Georgia’s territorial integrity if Georgia can manage to negotiate this with Abkhazia. “Russia does not need Abkhazia or South Ossetia as it has enough of its own land,” Lukashenko stated.
