A survey carried out by the Ministry of Education and Science with the support of the United Nations shows that knowledge of the Georgian language has improved among school children from ethnic minorities (i.e. Armenians, Azeris, etc.) in Georgia. More than 80% of school children in Georgia speak and write Georgian; therefore the number of students from ethnic minority backgrounds entering universities in Georgia is increasing.
