According to preliminary data of the Department of Statistics, Georgia's GDP growth in 2012 reached 6.1%. United National Movement (UNM) members think that a certain decrease in GDP at the end of the year was a sign of an economic crisis in the country. However, economic analysts think that Georgia’s new leadership that came to power in October 2012 had a very short period of time to either improve or damage Georgian economy. They go on to add that if there was any positive or negative change in the country’s GDP it is only the responsibility of the former government.
