Within the framework of the 'Support for Juvenile Justice Reform in National Minority Communities of Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe -Javakheti' project, CiDA carried out a needs assessment survey for the staff of the Bureau of the National Probation Agency and convicted children Kvemo Kartli and Samtkskhe –Javakheti.
The survey aims to assess their current achievements and uncover the challenges that the probation bureau currently faces. Last week, CiDA Project Manager Nino Demetrashvili held meetings with target groups in Akhaltsikhe where she briefed them on the aim of the project and the survey. According to Demetrashvili, involvement of probation officers, as well as young probationers in this activity is important, as this will help reveal what kind of problems they see while carrying out their duties and what should be improved in order for them to conduct their jobs more effectively.
CiDA plans to provide training courses for the staff of the Bureau of the National Probation Agency and for convicted children on the topics of their interest. The training courses are planned for March of this year. Project is funded by the European Union.
Recently, CiDA presented the project 'Support for Juvenile Justice Reform in National Minority Communities of Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe -Javakheti.' The project assists in the reintegration of juvenile probationers of all ethnicities from Kvemo Kartli and Samstskhe-Javakheti into their communities through new knowledge in professional and general education.
