From time to time, Georgian politicians raise the question of employing Georgian people during the implementation of different investment projects. The Ministry of Regional development and Infrastructure has elaborated a new strategy obliging foreign investors to employ at least 70% of their labor force from Georgia. Deputy Minister Shota Murghulia said this is a world approved approach which has been practiced by the Georgian government while constructing the Kobuleti bypass motorway quite successfully. According to Murghulia, 30% of the labor force could be hired by the investor from different countries, but they should follow the demand of the Georgian government in regard of those 70%.
