Employment in Georgia

According to the national statistics office, more than half a million people are employed in Georgian enterprises. Out of this, over 37% are females and the rest are males. It should be mentioned here that the average monthly wages of the male employees are almost twice higher than that of the females. This is a signal that gives the picture of gender inequality in Georgian society and highlights the imperfect labor legislation and problems that exist.
