Armenia has enough potential and resources to host around 1 million tourists annually. This is how one of the heads of the tourist agencies Gagik Mkrtichian thinks. According to Mkrtichian, high prices for tourist services have a negative influence on the development of Armenian tourism. This includes the costs associated with hotels and transportation. People involved in the hotel industry challenge this approach suggesting that prices are on par with international standards. However, people involved in the tourism industry think that airline tickets are also very expensive. They also complain that there are not many international flights to/from Yerevan.
