FDI in Azerbaijan

According to the Ministry of Economy, Azerbaijan is the leading recipient of Foreign Direct Investment out of all the East-European and CIS countries. The ministry said in the earlier years investments were from foreign countries, but for the last five years the volume of local investment has increased. It is significant that there is a trend of increasing non-oil investments in the country, as the country has taken steps to develop the non-oil industry. In 2013, around 100 such enterprises are planned to be opened.
