Georgia does "its share" of polluting environment. According to environment protectors there are some enterprises in Georgia which heavily pollute the country. The most notorious is the Georgian Manganese Co. in Zestaponi; then comes Sak-Nakhshiri (a coal mining company), Kaspi Tsementi Company, followed by Rustavi Tsementi and the Rustavi fertilizer factory, as well as Batumi Oil terminal in Adjara. The machinery that filters polluted air is mostly old and does not function well. Serious measures need to be taken in this regard to keep safe Georgia’s nature and the health of the population, which is the most important.
