Controversy about Baku-Tbilisi-Karsi railways

There are controversies concerning the continuation and the end of Baku-Tbilisi-Kari railways which has been proceeding with delays. The most popular explanation is based on the weather and climatic conditions, as well as some modification in the project. Now the digging of the tunnel on the Georgian territory is underway even though it was stopped for some time. The Minister of Economy of Georgia has stated that the construction will be continued in May this year. Overall, all the three countries: Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia are ready to fulfill their commitments in this regard. Moreover, Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze has recently offered this route to NATO authorities for transporting military cargo from Afghanistan.
