The National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), reports that according to the data of the second quarter of 2012, the inflow of FDI has considerably decreased. The promised amount of FDI has not been achieved and a serious setback was observed compared to the FDI made in 2011. A serious factor in this regard was the political unrest in the country due to the parliamentary elections in 2012. Moreover, the victory of the new political party caused uncertainty among investors, as investors want to invest their money in secure environment.
