Georgian parliament is discussing a new project on establishing agricultural cooperative entities in Georgian villages. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, rural areas were disproportionally distributed among the population in the rural areas. Now the farmers own small and uneven portions of land plots throughout the country. It is difficult to cultivate these lands for the farmers. Cooperatives will enable the farmers to collaborate and achieve better results. They will be able to cultivate the lands together, obtain state assistance and bank procedures will be easier for them as well. So the parliament is trying to regulate legislation norms in this regard, making it easier for the farmers to cooperate, so that their property is utilized in a better way.
