Geostat reports 0.1% annual deflation in May

Georgia’s annual inflation remained below zero at -0.1% in May after a 1.7% deflation in April, according to the state statistics office Geostat.
There was 0.7% inflation on a monthly basis in May.
Prices on food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 1.4% year-on-year in May after sixteen consecutive months of deflation on prices for this group.
Prices for fuel and lubricants dipped 11% in May; while prices for healthcare services, hotels and restaurants increased 3.7% and 3.1% respectively. (Civil.Ge)
