Russian arms deal for Azerbaijan

Russia’s Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said on July 25 that Armenia and Russia are strategic partners and there are enough forces to protect Armenia’s security. It looks like the statement was made by the Russian official to counterbalance the possible results of the arms deal between Russia and Azerbaijan. According to the special agreement between the two countries, Russia should provide Azerbaijan with a large amount of weapons and military equipment, the total value of the deal which includes ammunition as well, would probably come to $1 billion.
