Head of the National Tourism Administration, Giorgi Sigua, said Georgia will have a good tourism season for this year. According to Sigua the number of tourists will increase by 37% this year compared to 2012. Georgia will have around 5, 500, 000 visitors, from which 57% will be tourists, while this figure will increase next year.
Sigua believes that tourism will become one of the most important directions of the economy. He said there is already a deficit of hotels in the country. Encouraging the investors to invest money in the hotel business, Sigua said there is an increasing demand on hotels in Georgia. “All in all, this business is very profitable,” the head of the National Tourism Administrator stated.
